June 2017, 2:00am
Storming heart, uncertain yet hopeful
: a talk with my day
So, this day comes to an end
Asking me clear - dear friend,
Tell me what remarkable you did
One thing you'd be proud to sing.
What would make you greet with smile
When years later you dig the pile?
As I pondered what I gained
My anxious self trembled in vain.
Neither could I spot a gold,
Nor a name worth to hold.
Drenched in loathe at this sight
Soon began my sinking plight.
What a shame to pass the day
Not knowing the surest way.
Oh, but wait, told my heart!
When it searched its deeper parts.
There shone a muted beam
Yet bright enough to be seen.
And when I opened wide apart
I discovered a tiny art.
Art of life with knack to learn
And truth that one needs to burn,
For you make your own light
Day by day and night by night.
The gold will vanish, and name may fade
But its heart that will illuminate.
I have added a spark today
Certain to grow every day.
After years I need not dig deep,
For brightness is all I would keep.
So, when I turned around on day
It had already parted its way.
Leaving behind a gleam of light
As this day fades into the night.
